What's stored on your device
Your profile (name, age group, gender, bow type, club), scores, and preferences are stored in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and is not sent anywhere unless you use cloud backup or optional features described below.
Cloud backup
Your profile and scores are automatically backed up to our cloud storage (an S3 bucket), keyed by your name or Google account ID if you are signed in. This keeps your data safe if you lose your device or clear your browser. Backups are not shared with anyone else.
Optional Google sign-in
You can optionally sign in with Google via Firebase Authentication. This gives a more reliable key for your cloud backup. We only receive your email address and account ID from Google. We do not access your contacts, calendar, or any other Google data.
Optional location
When saving a shoot, you can optionally attach a location. If you do, your coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to look up the place name. This is a one-off request; your location is not tracked.
Error tracking
We use Sentry for error tracking in production. When something goes wrong, Sentry receives error details and your username (if set) to help us fix bugs. No other personal data is sent.
No ads, no analytics
Fast has no advertising, no analytics tracking, and no third-party trackers. We do not sell or share your data with anyone.
Children
The app includes age categories for under-16 archers. Children can use the app, but it is not specifically targeted at children. If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns, please get in touch.
